Sure, if it wasn’t for the challenges associated with being a software engineer, there would not be any excitement. Being curious or inquisitive is inherent to this profession. The question becomes how much of your life do you dedicate to engineering versus the other things that are important in your life? Personally for myself, I spend about 2 hours per day out of working hours on my professional development activities and only 1 hour per day on engineering. Outside of these hours are spent with family, friends or doing exercise or creating contents on self-development topics.
