Seizures are humiliating.
There’s nothing pretty about epilepsy. Watching these videos for the first time was really hard.
Last night I started having seizures back to back and they weren’t stopping. My family was panicking as the minutes went by and 911 inevitably had to be called.
Paramedics had to inject emergency medication in order to stop my seizures. Another dose was given in the hospital.
Status epilepticus is a dangerous brain condition that happens when a person has seizures that last too long or happen too quickly in sequence.
If not treated, it can lead to permanent brain damage or end of life.
1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their life.
and epilepsy will take 125,000 lives each year.
I hope putting this really scary moment out there will advocate for someone with the same condition.
