I’ve debated posting this a lot and now that it’s posted, I probably won’t ever rewatch it — but it’s real and I think people need to see it. My lowest moment.. the respiratory team was amazing. The moments after when I slowly came back to reality — after laying in a coma, stiff positioned for days weren’t great. I don’t know when I have seizures so when my mom told me I had 9, I felt so low. Rushing through all of the emotions. All of the moments after you wake up happen so fast. You still can’t think properly. You’re in pain. You’re trying to catch up on the days you missed/ actually understand it then a doctor comes to assess and sometimes even interrogate. You want to advocate for yourself so bad. We know our diagnoses like the back of our hands. But you can barely talk, barely concentrate, yet what we do convey is almost muscle memory. In my particular case, I also have gastroparesis, GERD, and ulcerative colitis. A cocktail that has left me TPN dependent for a 1 1/2 years....
