Sometimes I get really depressed over how much time it takes to keep my body stable
I normally do not share all of the medical interventions it takes to stay out of the hospital
To be transparent, this doesn’t count glucose and blood pressure checks every 4 hours. It doesn’t count the random episodes of anaphylaxis & epipen injections, the odd seizure, the medical alerts from the dogs, fainting, the IV meds 3 times a day that prevent me from throwing up the oral meds I take right after.
This doesn’t count blood work and dressing changes every Monday. It doesn’t count the endless amounts of appointments and infections from a compromised immune system. It doesn’t count random procedures and surgeries or the in-office injections for pain.
It most definitely doesn’t count the tears I’ve shed when a doctor says I have to be admitted again. It doesn’t count how I’ve begged to leave the hospital just because I want to be with the babies, Ruben, and the dogs. It doesn’t count the amount...
