MAGICAL LIKUPANG Still can’t believe I shot this in May.. Took advantage of the early Summer conditions to go make this video that was stuck on my mind for the last 10 months.  Their faces looked fierce, with bulging eyes, and no smile. Armed with swords and spears, they moved leaping, back and forth, and fired their weapons with alacrity. Look like a warrior crushing the enemy. That is Kabasaran, a traditional dance of the Minahasa people, North Sulawesi. The Kabasaran dance was previously played by male dancers who generally worked as farmers or security guards in villages in Minahasa. If at any time their territory was threatened or attacked by enemies, they left their jobs and turned into waranei or war soldiers.
