Speed takes years—sometimes decades—to build. Right now, I’m sitting at 222 lbs (101 kg), a frame built through scoliosis, imbalances, and the hard lessons of elite sport. This isn’t just size—it’s athleticism forged through adversity. I’ve learned my sweet spot sits closer to 215 lbs (97 kg), where power meets precision. Developing this kind of stroke power forced me to refine everything—using complete movement patterns and neural adaptive techniques to create balance and symmetry through my core. Turning my weaknesses into patterns of strength. Lately, I’ve leaned into cold water therapy and water aerobics to open up my shoulders, combining dolphin tail push-ups, Maltese and planche leans, and vinyasa flows. Each one builds scapular control—protraction, retraction, elevation, depression—the exact mechanics a fast, clean swim stroke demands. Cold water work hits differently. Recovery is instant. The nervous system sharpens. The body resets. This is about building a body that moves...
