This World Refugee Day, I’m sharing my humble journey from refugee camp to becoming a doctor:
👉1999 - having lived my entire childhood in Aghanistan war and camps, I was forced to leave family to seek safety in UK aged 15.
👉2001 - started A-levels despite not having much formal education or command of English.
👉2003 - got admitted to study medicine at Cambridge University despite many saying I was a refugee, wasn't white and not educated enough for any university.
👉2006 - graduated from Cambridge with first for my research and finished studies at Harvard and Imperial Universities despite battling PTSD and loneliness.
👉2010 - qualified as a doctor, and have since been proudly serving people in the NHS as a doctor and 🌎 as a philanthropist.
