Therapy isn’t meant to be a courtroom where one person is declared right and the other wrong.
It’s a space to understand patterns.
Sometimes that means looking at how others have hurt us.
And sometimes it means looking at the ways we react, protect ourselves, or repeat certain dynamics.
Psychological language can be helpful.
But when it becomes a way to avoid difficult conversations, it stops serving growth.
The real work of therapy often begins the moment we’re willing to ask:
“What part of this pattern belongs to me?”
That question can be uncomfortable.
But it’s also where real change starts.
