Life really had me thinking I was behind. It seemed like everyone else had clearer plans and knew exactly what direction they were going. Meanwhile, I was sitting there trying to figure out what was “realistic” and what actually felt right for me. At the time, I assumed that meant something was wrong with me. Now I see it differently. I wasn’t lost or behind… I just couldn’t force myself to settle for options that didn’t feel right. Some people are completely fine following a path that already exists. Some of us need to figure out what our own path is and how to build it. And that takes time, especially when it’s not the “norm.” Maybe the real question isn’t always WHAT do you want to be when you grow up. Sometimes it’s WHO do you want to be.
