Tamsa Ayba Territory, sculpture is the second part of a multi-sensory installation that explores the body as a sacred landscape; a site of memory, transformation, of belonging, and ancestral force. Drawing from Muisca cosmogony, the sculpture reflects about the body as the migratory landscape where we see that it’s not separate from nature but deeply rooted in the land, the cosmos, and the cycles of life. Tamsa Ayba means (sacred body) in the Mhuysqa Kubum language which is spoken in the current territory of the Cundiboyacense plateau, mainly in Tunja and Bogotá, Colombia. My sculptures echo the body as container, as territory, as archive of memory and pain, but also of pleasure and healing.
