Memories fall upon us like “out of the blue” suddenly, tenderly, reshaping how we inhabit the present.
Whispers of Memory - Esther (2025) merges sculpture, charcoal, and AI-generated video, where my grandmother’s gestures and the memories I have of her reappear like visions from the sky, altering my present.
Through AI, I explore how technology can resurrect memory, not as nostalgia, but as transformation and humorous reactions. The wound is the space where light enters, is the beginning of the healing process.
The ruptures of the charcoals tear apart the old self, like memory breaking open the body, making space for a new one to emerge.
Thank you especially to the artist pkirn for being part of this journey and delighting our ears and souls with the art sound for this piece. 🌈🖖
