New painting “Las Hijas del Maíz”
Huitaca,Bachué, Chía and Guatavita goddesses and sacred deities of the Muisca Civilization from the Altiplano Cundiboyacence in Colombia. Reemerging in this painting are potent emblematic figures embodying resistance, sensuality, collective memory, and the elemental force of water and moon cycles. Through a synthesis of their ancestral energies with corporeal iconographies such as the uterus, roots, and skin.
I want to rearticulate the epistemologies that colonial narratives tried to erase: the profound wisdom of the feminine, the equilibrium in nature/body, and the sacred feminine principle of our natural resources.
4,50 x 90 cm ( 3 pieces 150 x 90) mixed media on canvas. Will be exhibited next week illergallery
