Mayinias Altar II - Tia Mona, 2025, is part of a series of 27 sculptures aimed at honoring and redefining our ancestral memories in Colombia. while embracing the journey of transformation. This series explores the profound and difficult process of turning painful, physical memories into uplifting and healing experiences. Each sculpture is a heartfelt tribute to the spirits of Latin American goddesses and my beloved family members who have endured violence and hardship. Elements like braids, metal, leather, and offerings converge to create a sacred space that reimagines femininity, challenging the constraints of colonial and patriarchal norms.
