The AuthaGraph map is a world map projection developed by Japanese architect Hajime Narukawa in 1999. Unlike traditional maps that distort the size of continents, AuthaGraph divides the globe into many triangles and unfolds them onto a rectangle while preserving relative area more accurately. This means continents and oceans keep proportions closer to reality compared to the Mercator projection. It also allows the map to repeat seamlessly, helping visualize Earth as a continuous surface rather than a distorted flat image.
