Around early July, Earth is tilted toward the Sun in the Northern Hemisphere due to its 23.5 degree axial tilt. On July 8 at about 11:15 UTC, the distribution of continents and population aligns so that nearly all densely populated regions fall within the sunlit half of Earth. Most people live in Asia, Europe, and Africa, which are in daylight at that moment. Only small, sparsely populated areas remain in darkness, allowing roughly 99 percent of humanity to experience daylight simultaneously.
