Wisdom Wednesday: Two Agreements That Changed Everything” This morning at my altar, I received not one message but two. The book “The Four Agreements is amazing” “Don’t Make Assumptions:” We make assumptions so fast and unconsciously because we’ve agreed it’s not safe to ask questions. We’ve agreed that if people love us, they should just KNOW what we want or how we feel. But that’s the poison. That’s where the hurt begins. “Don’t Take Anything Personally - Love and Respect Yourself:” You are never responsible for the actions of others, but you ARE responsible for you. If someone is not treating you with love and respect, it is a gift if they walk away from you. You may hurt for a while, but your heart will eventually heal. These two agreements work together: Stop assuming people should know your needs without you speaking them. And stop taking it personally when they can’t read your mind.
