The Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme or EDLI is an insurance cover provided by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation. The nominee receives a lump-sum payment if the insured person passes away.
- EDLI applies to all employees who have PF in their salary. The maximum benefit is capped at ₹7 lakhs.
- The claim amount is 35x the average monthly salary of the last 12 months (max: ₹7 lakhs)
- Employees don’t need to contribute separately to EDLI. It’s free if you contribute to PF.

1. Completed Form 5 IF
2. Death certificate of the insured person.
3. Succssion certificate in case the legal heir files the claim.
