Inclusion without the right support is just exposure.
And "being with their peers" means nothing if a child is constantly overwhelmed, misunderstood, or falling through the cracks.
Some kids thrive in inclusive classrooms.
Others need specialized settings, smaller environments, or a team that truly understands their unique needs.
Its not about giving up...
It's about honoring what actually works for each child. 💛
Because if I've learned one thing throughout my 16 years as the mom to an autistic daughter with a disability, it's that there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
And while we can collectively work towards a more inclusive society, I found that shifting our focus toward meeting my child's needs right NOW was the right choice for us.
