So what even is an IEE?! Simply put, it's an evaluation of your child's abilities and educational needs completed by a professional who is NOT employed by the school district that your child attends. So why might you request one? 👇 ➡️ You disagree with the school's evaluation: If you believe the school's evaluation did not accurately reflect their abilities in any specific area (think: speech, OT, PT, behavior, academics, etc.), you might consider requesting an IEE.
