Wu Bin – W.DESIGN with Empire: Drifting Yǎo Before stepping into this installation, I stood outside for a minute—not to take pictures, but to eavesdrop a little. I wanted to hear what people were saying as they walked out. And guess what? The most common reactions were: “There’s nothing inside.” “I didn’t get it.” Naturally, I thought: Okay… sounds interesting. I’m going in. And I’m so glad I did. What many dismissed as “empty” was actually full of subtle beauty and contrast. Wu Bin’s Drifting Yǎo is a minimalist installation inspired by the Eastern philosophical dualism between impermanence and permanence. The space is divided into two parts: a dark wooden corridor—almost like a time tunnel—and an open-air relaxation area. The corridor plays with shadow, filtered sunlight, and unexpected soundscapes triggered by visitors themselves.
