In record production, everything is a sculpture, a design, an invention, unique intellectual property. We would say there is no right way to approaching a record. You can create an excellent mix map, and you can keep picking on it over and over until you find the right sweet spot, but as they say, sometimes the first mix is the right one, for instance, its crazy how Billie Jean was mixed 91 times by Bruce Swedien and quincyjones picked mix #2.
