There was a comment on a post that I saw recently that said something along the lines of “the feedback I got was that I had TOO much experience”... and quite a few people had THOUGHTS.
I don’t think that too much experience is a thing. What I do think is a thing though is making sure that you can prove to yourself (and schools) that you can succeed academically after being out of school for 10 years.
If it’s been 5+ years since you took a science course, how confident are you that you will be able to pass a grad level chemistry and physics course along with 3 other courses?
Age brings so much wisdom, experience, life skills that will serve you so well in the OR. Just make sure your academic ability reflects that you will be able to jump back into academics full time without missing a beat.
