Well, there are a few big things but the biggest, most preventable one? Not mapping out your application timeline.

Taking a science class can take 12 weeks. Need to take two? Unless you want to overlap, now that’s 6 months. (Most applicants are taking a few, btw. Some, up to 6!)
Then studying for the GRE, that’s another 8-12 weeks.
CCRN? Add at least 4.
CSC or CMC? Let’s say another 4.
2 classes + GRE + CCRN + another certification?
😱 That’s 11 months.
Then life happens, vacations, you pick up extra shifts. And before you know it? You’re cramming for your GRE, wrapping up your Pathophysiology final, and trying to work on your personal essay.
