I get a LOT of questions about taking classes over again. Especially how schools handle "retakes". The reality? Every program is different. Some factor both the old and new, some just the new etc. You'll have to ask during an open house, email the school, and triple check the FAQ section on the website. ⁠ ⁠ Your GPA is one piece of the puzzle. There have been applicants with lower undergraduate GPAs (like 3.0 - 3.2) who have gone back and gotten master's degrees and have been accepted. It's not a bad strategy. Also, I did hear one program faculty mention taking two graduate level science classes simultaneously and getting the science GPA up to a 3.7 was par for their program (this is program specific!). My point is, there is no blanket statement, there is no exact answer. You have to be able to prove that you can handle difficult science classes in a high stakes situation.
