Emirates NBD has set a new global benchmark in sustainable finance today, January 15, 2026, by successfully completing the issuance of its inaugural $1 billion dual-tranche Blue-Green Bond. This landmark transaction, conducted under the bank’s Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme, marks the largest blue bond ever issued in the GCC and the world’s largest dual-tranche blue-green bond by any financial institution. The deal is split into two strategic layers: a $300 million Blue Tranche with a 3-year tenor and a $700 million Green Tranche with a 5-year tenor. By offering these tranches publicly, Emirates NBD has moved beyond previous private placements in the region, signaling high transparency and robust demand from global ESG investors, including major participation from asset manager T.
