In a major talent coup for the cloud sector, Google Cloud has appointed Karthik Ramakrishnan as Vice President within its Data Cloud organization. Ramakrishnan, a 14-year veteran of Amazon, officially stepped down as Amazon's VP of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in late 2025 to spearhead Google’s push into what he describes as the "Agentic Era."
