Meet the Company of the Grand Theatre High School Project – Disney’s NEWSIES … “You are all dancers.” On day one, this is how Director Ray Hogg greeted the student company of the Grand Theatre High School Project – Disney’s NEWSIES. “And to quote Martha Graham, ‘wherever a dancer stands is consecrated ground.’”  As each cast member takes the stage – voices lifted under the leadership of Music Director Matthew Atkins, moving through Krista Leis’ ambitious choreography – they are dressed from the top of their heads to their tippy tap toes by Wardrobe; set against the world built by Carpentry, Scenic Art, and Props; propelled by the rise and fall of the Orchestra; guided by the experience and expertise of Kristi Hansen, Disability Consultant. They are in the hands of Lighting and Sound Design, Stage Management, and Stage Crew.
