March 30th is National Doctors’ Day! It is an annual observance aimed at celebrating and appreciating physicians who help save our lives. For today, Jared letterpress printed a few medical related sorts. These sorts are from a handy pack made by the American Type Founders. The other sorts in the handy pack relate to other symbols for informational purposes. The skull and crossbones represent poison, the mortar and pestle represent medicine, and the Rx symbol stands for prescription. Interested in learning more about medical history in Sacramento? It was once a medical library for medical students, and when those became obsolete, it was converted into a museum in 2000.
