I’m so sad to hear that Doug Irwin passed. I guess I got super lucky to be able to meet him that one time at Grateful Dead 60. I assumed I would see him again at some point. He was so sweet to me. It’s hard to believe that I have such a special instrument inspired by his work, and as you can see in the video he cut the first piece of wood for the Dire Wolf bass himself. Many thanks to Bill Asher asherguitars for sending me that video and for all the work he did on my bass. To say it is an honor to have this bass is something far, far below an understatement. I hope Doug is enjoying being reunited with the gentlemen for whom he made the guitars that changed our lives.
