Eugene, Oregon is hearing looped! This makes visiting Eugene more accessible for the deaf, hard-of-hearing community. eugenecascadesandcoast sponsored a trip for Elisa.Richards and mama.hu.hears to check-out multiple hearing looped attractions! If you have a telecoil program on your hearing device, you can switch it on and you’ll be able to pick up the audio. This trip was a perfect example of what true accessibility looks like when it’s already built into the environment. From the concierge desk at graduatehotels Eugene, to the stage at cottagetheatre, to the exhibits at mnch_uo, we were able to use our telecoil programs on our hearing devices to connect directly to the room’s sound system to hear the the speakers more clearly. At the eugenesciencecenter planetarium, we heard the show clearly while shooting stars flew overhead.
