#TakeActionTuesday: On the final day of #WomensHistoryMonth, we celebrate the WNBA’s historic collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that will forever change the landscape of women’s sports. In 1998, the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (thewnbpa) became the first-ever labor union made up of women athletes, and in 1999, they negotiated the first CBA in the history of professional women’s sports. Now, 26 years later, the new CBA, which runs through 2032, gives players nearly a 400% raise, and creates the first comprehensive revenue-sharing model in women’s professional sports, with WNBA players’ salaries now tied to the league’s revenue.
