yes, that’s really the name (shoutout Google marketing). but goofy branding aside, I’m genuinely shocked at how good this thing is.
I still remember when a single photo edit would eat up hours. now, one clear prompt, and it’s done.
but it makes me wonder: if the tedious parts of filmmaking and content setup disappear, does the storytelling change too? being in LA recently, I’ve seen how much intention goes into every manual setup of a shot. what happens if that all goes away?

in this video, I swapped backgrounds, styles, and clothing, then animated them with Freepik video models.
✨ what it nails: object replacement with simple prompts (swap things out, or replace with something you’ve uploaded).
⚠️ where it struggles: faces + self-VFX. tiny distortions are fine for objects, but on a person’s face?
still, it’s only going to get better. one day, video models of ourselves don’t feel far ...
