For 40 years, this painting hung above Grandma’s sofa, her pride and joy. When she passed away, I carefully took it down, the wall lighter but the house suddenly heavier. For years, it sat there the backdrop to many photograph, the silent listener hours of conversation, for tears and for laughter. So when I finally lifted it from its place, I found a little label on the back: Newquay. I knew exactly what to do! I lovingly packed it up for a safe journey to @gettingstuffdoneinheels to live on in her beautiful Newquay home, ready for another 40 years of memories. But before it makes it to the wall last week, I took it back to where it all began. The same stretch of sand and sea that inspired at Newquay, that inspired the artist brushstrokes and what made my grandma for I love with it!
