A 600 km (372.8 mile) corridor of ice connects the SA Agulhas II to our blue-ice runway in the Antarctic interior. Each season, specialised PistenBully vehicles traverse this crevasse-riddled route, transporting the equipment and supplies required to operate in one of the most remote environments on Earth. Fuel, aviation infrastructure, camp components, food provisions, technical systems and safety equipment are moved steadily across the plateau. The journey takes weeks and relies on detailed route mapping, weather analysis and constant ground assessment.
