Finally, some flippin' good news for imperiled species: President Trump's Endangered Species Act rollbacks have been overturned. Today, a federal court ruled that four key provisions that implement the Act, issued in 2019 under the first Trump administration, are unlawful. This is a huge win for endangered species all across the country. Wildlife in the United States will see stronger protections for their critical habitat and federal agencies won't be able to shirk their duties to ensure they don't drive species to extinction. "This decision puts some solid roadblocks in place to stop the Trump administration from undermining protections for our most endangered plants and animals," said Ryan Shannon, senior attorney for the Center.
