Georgia is leading the country in girls flag football growth. And the movement is far from finished. The Atlanta Falcons and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation announced that 27 new Georgia high schools will add girls flag football programs in 2026 — the latest sign of a sport that has grown faster than nearly anyone anticipated since the GHSA sanctioned it in 2020. The numbers tell the story: more than 300 schools fielded programs last season, and for the first time, the 2026 state championships will have their own dedicated day at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
