Georgia wrestling history was made in Morrow last month ā and it came in pairs.
Greta and Nora Garbuzovas, twin sisters from Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega, closed out their high school careers at the GHSA Girls Individual Wrestling Championships with Greta claiming her fourth consecutive state title in the 140-pound class, making her one of the first four-time GHSA girls wrestling champions ever. Nora finished as state runner-up in the 135-pound class.
Known as the Hammer Twins, the sisters have spent four years pushing each other ā and Georgia girls wrestling ā to new heights. When they arrived at Lumpkin County, 8 girls were on the roster. Today, there are 26.
Greta has her sights set on the Olympics. The legacy is already secured.
