Fake lives are built on appearance.
When someone is overly focused on image, perfection, and presentation, it often signals something deeper. Not confidence, but insecurity. Not self-acceptance, but the need to be seen a certain way.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look good. But when identity is built entirely on appearance, there’s usually very little depth underneath it.
If someone can’t sit comfortably in who they are, without constant external validation, that doesn’t just affect how they see themselves. It affects how they show up for you.
Real connection requires authenticity.
And authenticity starts with self-acceptance.
If someone is always performing, always presenting, always chasing an image… you’re not dealing with who they are. You’re dealing with who they want you to believe they are.
And that rarely holds up over time.
