Light Carousel✨ The final project for my Digital Foundations course. First prototype of many to come! . . Artist Statement: Taking a twist on the classic novel, “Alice in Wonderland,” this work is inspired by American McGee’s Alice video game series. In this piece, Alice — like in the game — is split between her good and evil halves. Instead of having a black-and-white split, I wanted to offer a different perspective where both Alices are two halves of a whole — imperfect in their own ways. Hence, the celestial theming of the carousel. Falling down the rabbit hole of reality and imagination has always been something I’ve had to juggle. The never-ending cycle of life can definitely be harrowing at times. I wanted this piece to offer a different perspective for those struggling with similar circumstances; it’s a chaotic balance that keeps life revolving.
