Enzo Amore on the Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw podcast said watching Big Cass make his AEW debut after battling addiction was "so much sweeter" than their original WWE debut together. ​ A man named Doug Lawson confronted Cass at an autograph signing: "He said, 'Dude, you look fat, out of shape, and a shell of the guy I used to see on TV.' And Cass bowed up like, 'I'm going to whip your ass.'" ​ Cass later had a seizure at a House of Hardcore show in Philly after trying to cold-turkey quit alcohol, then went to rehab. ​ Enzo said DDP played a major role, bringing Cass to his house to recover: "Big Cass was working with DDP and all the people that they work with that they show you resilience and people that have come back from terrible addiction." ​ On DDP's seltzer-stocked bar: "He would have a bar loaded to the gills.
