We invite you to share your stories below! #ThanksToTheADA The ADA is important to me because it allows individuals with disabilities to be an active part of their community – access to buildings, public spaces, employment, and social events. I think that often, many people take access for granted. Many people do not have to think about if there are steps at the entrance, gravel on the ground, grass to navigate through, cords/wires/hoses on the ground, curbs, uneven sidewalks, barricades, etc. People with mobility disabilities often take extra time to plan where they are going because they need to know that they will have space to park, ability to get into the facility, and space to move around once they get to their destination.
