As a person with a disability who is also old enough to remember navigating a world that was very inaccessible to them before the ADA was passed, I can tell you that everything I have accomplished and will accomplish with the rest of my life would not be possible without the ADA. The ADA allows me to use assistive technology to perform my job duties, it has allowed me to attend school with both disabled and non-disabled peers, and it allows me to actively participate in the community in which I live by going to restaurants, shopping, and enjoying other hobbies that I have.
