Matthiessen State Park, Cascade Falls 📍 Oglesby, IL Starting from the main parking lot, this trail takes you down a series of stairs, over a historic bridge, and into the sandstone canyons of the Dells, ending at Cascade Falls…a 45-foot waterfall that separates the Upper and Lower Dells. Spring is the best time to catch it flowing after snowmelt and rain, as the falls can dry up completely by summer.
