This is a capsule endoscopy camera, often called a PillCam. It is a vitamin sized device that patients swallow so doctors can see inside the digestive tract without surgery. Inside it are a tiny camera, LED lights, battery and transmitter. As it moves naturally through the body, it captures images, usually around two to six photos per second, and sends them wirelessly to a recorder.
