Texas Tech baseball homered deep to walk off Abilene Christian University in the eighth inning to complete a 15-4 run-rule victory Tuesday night at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
After a pair of runs in the seventh inning put Tech in run-rule territory, the Red Raiders continued their batting efforts into the final frame. Tech freshman infielder Linkin Garcia opened the winning frame with a single before Ferraro’s homer concluded the night.
Entering the eighth frame on the verge of the run-rule with a 13-4 lead, a home run off the bat of Tech junior outfielder Caden Ferraro brought in the game-winning two runs. The Red Raiders’ scoring transcended the game-winning frame as they scored in seven of the eight total frames.
