Maj. Gen. Tim Donnellan, adjutant general of Idaho, and former Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at the Idaho Youth Challenge Academy in Pierce. The ceremony marked the official opening of a new $15 million student barracks at the school. “This facility was specifically engineered for the safety and well-being of 180 students and cadre, increasing from the old barracks size and enabling the program to grow in the future,” said Donnellan. Measuring nearly 18,000 square feet, the three-story barracks includes meeting and training rooms incorporated alongside improved student sleeping spaces.
