The Idaho National Guard’s 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team participated in this year’s Warfighter exercise in Camp Atterbury, Ind., this month alongside Texas Army National Guard members from the 36th Infantry Division. Warfighter is an annual division-level computer simulated exercise designed to refine and hone command and control of division assets against a realistic training scenario using the Army’s Command Post Computing Environment. The CPCE is a sophisticated digital system that allows commanders to direct simulated troops, track battlefield movements, and coordinate complex maneuvers, casualty evacuations and even unit ammunition deliveries in real time. 116th CBCT’s executive officer Maj.
