Twelve Guardsmen graduated from The Idaho National Guard's Abrams Tank System Maintainer Class 001 Friday in the Brooks Auditorium. The majority of students who attended the six-week course were from the the Texas National Guard's 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment. The unit was facing a shortfall of qualified maintainers and an upcoming deployment. However, the Idaho National Guard's Regional Training Site – Maintenance accepted 11 Texas Guardsmen who volunteered to reclassify in order to deploy with the unit, helping ensure it will be fully manned and capable when it deploys.
