On Dec. 7, we had the honor of recognizing the incredible achievements of our Idaho Army National Guard State Aviation Group during a special award ceremony. Multiple awards were presented for outstanding safety and search and rescue operations-2 pillars of our mission that save lives and ensure readiness. “These awards are significant. It’s not just the people in the helicopter, it’s not just the person on the hoist preparing the litter, but it’s also the maintainers and everyone else that makes it happen,” said Maj. Gen. Tim Donnellan adjutant general of Idaho and commanding general of the Idaho National Guard. “You’re bringing those people home when they thought they would never recover.” The Idaho Army National Guard has responded to assist local responders in appropriately 12 rescues this year.
