🔎 AI Just Beat Radiologists at Scale In the largest NHS study of its kind, conducted on 175,000 women, Google’s AI detected more cases of invasive cancer overall, had fewer false positives, and recalled fewer women for unnecessary follow-up scans than human radiologists did. AI also reduced the time spent reading scans by almost a third. The stakes couldn’t be higher. In the UK, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes, yet there is a 29% shortfall of clinical radiologists — nearly 2,000 — projected to rise to 39% by 2029.
